Hi there, welcome to the new Yorkshire Lass Sportive website & blog!

So what’s been happening? Well no sooner is one Sportive done than its time to start planning the next one! Yes it really does start the very next week! Why…because you all make this such a fantastic event, that we’re buzzing and can’t wait to do it all again! This year we are really excited to bring you 3 completely new routes designed to appeal to all levels, from those new to Sportives to the more hardcore looking for a new challenge. We’ve certainly achieved that this year as we’ve decided to include the iconic Buttertubs pass on the long route. As organisers we don’t expect you to do anything we wouldn’t so we will be tackling this ourselves as soon as the weather improves.....yikes I need an E-bike! You’ll be able to see how we get on later!
Meanwhile Jude, Fi, me & Judi C set off to ride Yer Brew’s Mashin’ on an absolutely filthy November day. It was cold, wet, so misty and damp that all our Garmins & GPS devices failed which resulted in us taking a slight detour down a lovely descent… woohoo this is nice I thought….only problem was of course this was completely the wrong direction so we had to do a U turn & pedal back up! Fiona was less than chuffed, so it was head down, pedal on and say nowt until we were all at the top. I hope you’re all impressed and admire our dedication LOL! It’s a lovely route though, along quite rolling lanes, it even has a castle and village called Snape for all the Harry Potter fans. Fi & me are big on the Potter! Anyway come August the route will be incredibly well signed and hopefully bathed in sunshine so no one will suffer the same fate as us!

Meanwhile back at HQ we’ve been busy restyling and updating our brand to give the Yorkshire Lass Sportive logo a more contemporary look for 2020. The merchandise range has been extended to include our fabulous hoodies and the new 2020 jerseys/kit and bobble hats will be coming soon. We’ve a really cool design that you will want to get your hands on asap! We are grateful to Cycle Clothing UK for their continued support, and generous charity donation on every item sold. Looking forward to ditching the thermals & getting my bibshorts on, although maybe not so much the legwax that that goes with them!
Next time…Stop yer Faffin’ until the Pedal On!
